About Us
Our Firm's LEGACY BEGINS WITH Dave's Story
Our founder, Dave Muela, spent his life watching people get pushed around and decided to do something about it.
Growing up, Dave was the kid who didn't fit in. He got picked on for being Italian, for how he looked, for not being part of the right group. It made him hate seeing anyone pushed around or bullied, and that sensitivity followed him into his professional life.
Dave is the youngest of seven kids. His big brother had a roofing and siding business, and it was expected that Dave would go into business with him after high school. Turns out they couldn't work together. They actually worked against each other, and more than once, his brother took advantage of him financially. When Dave told his father he wanted to go to college instead, his dad said he'd help, but only if it was law school or med school. When Dave said neither, his dad said he wasn't paying. So Dave worked the docks at UPS through the night and studied statistics, finance, accounting, and marketing during the day. If he wanted something badly enough, he'd have to figure out how to get it himself.
After 20 years at UPS, Dave left to help people with their money. He thought he was getting into an industry where he could actually make a difference. Instead, he found the same bullies he'd been dealing with his whole life. Big financial companies are churning out products like they're on an assembly line and jamming them into people's lives, whether they fit or not. Advisors who are really just trained to peddle those products. A media machine that pretends to help people but mostly just scares them into making short-term decisions.
Dave watched a good friend pass away, and because of bad advice, his son lost everything. He decided right then that would never happen to anyone who worked with him. That's been the mission here since 1999.
How We Work
We don't do "Dear Occupant" advice. We're selective about who we work with because not everyone is a good fit, and that goes both ways.
Before we agree to work together, we need to understand who you are, what you're trying to accomplish, and whether this makes sense for both of us. We use something called The Freedom Wealth Process and a 17 Point Wealth Assessment to figure out where you are, where you want to be, and what's in the way. Then we build a plan around your actual situation instead of whatever product is being pushed this quarter.
When things get rough, we don't disappear. We're here during the bad times because that's when you need someone most. Your financial life isn't something you set and forget. It changes because life changes, and we're with you through all of it.
Who This is For
We work with business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals who've spent their careers building something real. Most are in their 60s or 70s and have already accumulated wealth. They're not looking for someone to explain the basics. They're looking for someone who can help them figure out what comes next.
The people we work best with are open-minded. They've been successful, but they know that doesn't mean they have all the answers. They want options, not lectures. They care about their families and the causes that matter to them. And they want an advisor who will protect what they've built with the same care they used to build it.
